Beautiful property in the northeast part of our State. 30 minutes from Angola or Fort Wayne and just 5 miles from the Ohio line. This combination of food, water and cover is one great lease.
The landowners care deeply for their land and are excited to let you hunt. Habitat improvement and maintenance is very important to this family and they are looking for someone who shares their love of nature.
The land has a 13 acre clean lake and a 2 track road going around it. ATV/UTV okay but stay on the trails. The northeast area of the farm has wetlands, and I saw numerous Wood ducks flying. Timber stand management is practiced throughout the property and the timber is diverse as you will find in a section of land this size. Regeneration of hardwoods is happening through management. Please take care not to damage young hardwoods.
Deer, Turkey and Ducks are all included in your pursuit. Fishing is by request only. Terms of the management of the lake can be discussed with the owner. They are avid mushroom hunters and request this lease only has Turkey hunting privilege in the Spring time. No dedicated mushroom hunting allowed.
Discuss dates of Turkey Hunting with them because taking a Long Beard here will not be a problem!
The main reason I set this up by appointment only is the following:
-Owners want to know who is coming on their property
-Owners like to fish, inspect the forest regularly and mushroom hunt... you need to be good with all that if you lease this
-Owners want to meet you first and talk
Leasing agent thoroughly discussed with owners that during hunting season, and more importantly the months of October and November... that their forest inspection activity and walks around the pond, be kept to a minimum. Also, communicate with hunter if for any reason they need to go back during the main part of the Fall season.
This will be a lease you keep and likely develop a friendship with the owners. Be prepared to spend a minimum of 4 hours here for your scheduled visit
Game species: only wild turkey, deer, duck and pheasant
Hunters are to give notice to designated representative of the Licensor on the Premises 24 hours prior to entering the Premises.
